I am thinking Raider treads, as I think more about it.

would a vacuum table be able to remake the innards from the AF one?

I don't know vacuum tables as well as i do casting, but i don't think so... the biggest issue would be getting the screw mounting points.. Also you'd still need the negative mold to use on vacuum table...and it'd have to be modified to accommodate the thickness of the plastic being formed... I guess I don't see any major advantage offered by a vacuum table vs casting.

What about some bigger treads? Maybe ones from the Brawler.

There isn't really room for bigger treads...and that would negate the whole reason behind the idea of making Mauler/Equalizer platform variants.

Maybe the treads will feel better after you get the armor skirts on it

What I love most about the idea is the inspiration: that existing vehicles might be swapped together as a alternate purpose frankenstein. Very cool!

Here's the bottom with the treads removed...you can see how much I've cut away... at some point I'll do an overlay and show how much of this bottom detail I'm planning on plating over.

Next 2 photos show the side rails attached...temporarily with hot glue...minor tweeks made after this pic was taken as I started the work of permanently mounting the side rails... They sit out a little bit wider than I was hoping... I'll see if it bothers me once I get everything mounting in a semi-permanent way.

Last pic has the side armor snapped on... still needs more fit and finish...but I'm liking it....

I like it with the side skirts, but I think they require the top to be armored.

I agree - it's like wearing half a suit of armor with a t-shirt. Either it should be lightly armored and fast or heavily armored to the top. Unless you were looking at reducing the profile and removing the canopy altogether, I am thinking that replacing it with plasticard walls would be your best bet.

I also agree that with the Armor and Treads, the Canvas top doesn't make much sense... but, in the scope of this project the Armored Top would be Phase 2... I need to finish the foundation before I worry about the roof.
