IDW GIJOE #201 question

The JOEs are getting the Fort Wadsworth Motor Pool rebuilt and two soldiers find a plaque on the wall with a list of the JOEs KIA.

One remarks that two of the names on the plaque got erased.

Steeler, Stalker, and what appears to be Cover Girl look at that in silence before Steeler asks for a cloth to clean and polish the plaque.

I'm curios what two names were erased.

Well, Sneak Peek was revealed to be alive so that's one. Can't recall who the other could be. Snake-eyes maybe? He's "died" so many times his name should be written on the plaque in dry erase marker.

I not sure why there would even be an old plaque on the Motor Pool wall considering the JOEs were in Utah before they lost anyone.

I was curious too, and I think it was Hama seeding future stories. Sneak Peek is definitely one, but I think we have yet to learn the second.

I'm still pissed they brought back Sneak Peek. That was one of the most meaningful character deaths in the original series (especially for such a minor character), and I'm still convinced they only did it to cover for an error.

Especially considering how definitive his death was in the issue. There was really no logistical way that was faked.
What error were they covering for?

They included SP randomly in a throwaway scene of one of the first issues of the new series. It was an obvious "we forgot we killed him" and people called them on it, and then they tried to play it off as intentional.

Could have beed seedingg but then they followed up the comment with they should have polished it first. So they left it ambiguous whether they were erased or if the plaque was just dirty and they looked erased.

I remember in the original comics they had a teaser that said "Next Month: A Joe Dies!" and it turned out to be Kwinn.

General Flagg died in the same issue, along with Kwinn, Scarface and Dr Venom

Last time we saw him, he was in hospital, handing over the reins to Hawk. We never found out what happened after that.
