I'm with chad. Some of the BM figures are nice but many are just kind of meh in design. (Red one, blue one, green one) And the Red Laser figures are significantly higher in quality in my opinion. They just feel like they are put together better.

The Black Major Storm Shadow mold is particularly awful. Even if there was a worthwhile idea for a repaint, the ultra-thin elbows and the skinny head make it not worth bothering. Plus, I am getting bored with the BM standard color swap and camo method of repaints. They don't feel inspired at all by the rest of the Joe line and somehow start to feel tired. Even the colors chosen feel out of place. Like the green figures aren't a familiar shade of green. Blue is just any shade of blue.

I'd much prefer something like the Eels-colored Vipers that Red Laser put out. Those actually feel like they complement the vintage figures.

So long as we get version 1 Alley Vipers in urban camo, I am so game.

I hate to pile on, but I have to agree. If you're going to do 3rd party bootlegs, Red Laser is putting out better product right now. I have to imagine they will be a ton of cross over between them since there are only so many highly sought after o-ring army builders. I'd rather wait for the one that doesn't feel like it is going to fall apart on me the first time I move it around.

I haven't bought any of the recent bootlegs except for one that turned to be lemon. So that turned me off for a while.

About two weeks ago, I decided to try again. I bought all the offerings that Red Laser had. The quality of the Bat and Viper figures received from Red Laser were far better than anything I have gotten in the past from the other guy.

Black Major's got Eels coming soon as well, including some super awesome Red Shadows ones.

Just give me Red Shadows everything.

RedLaser just posted his plans for JoeCon on Facebook. I'm not sure how much he wants the details divulged, so I'll just say this...

This is one of those days when it really sucks to be a broke toy collector...

I haven't seen anything this amazing in traditional-style figures for YEARS!

Red Laser is releasing squad sets in about a dozen different themes. Some more traditional, some based on existing subteams. It is nuts and I'm looking forward to it.

Regarding the JoeCon Red Laser figures, you guys need to get on Facebook and join the RedLasersArmy group. The figure designs they have coming are stunning.
