Couldn't they just require a UPC from the back to be cut out? Most places won't take things back without a UPC, right?

I've got a grea idea. Why don't they put some sort of redemption point on the back of the cards? In keeping with the "Real American Hero" theme they could be done with a flag motif. They could call them "flag points" or "battle points". Instead of requiring people to purchase a bunch of products to get one sticker from each, we can offer a small selection of reissued and exclusive items through this "mail order" promotion. Items would be a set amount and a certain amount of points, or just a higher amount of points, or a higher cash amount.

Nah, that would never work........ :shifty: :balloon_hasbro:

They tried that with SW and people just cut the UPC off in the stores. 8-O It turns out a missing UPC makes the figures harder to sell too. :D

It seems like they will do this.

They're doing it again with the Cpt Rex mail-away figure.

Eh, atleast it's four figures, I'd probably swing that for a clone. So when they say Saga Legends, I wonder if the ones that have already been out qualify? I'll have to check the packages at home... :shifty:

Any single carded figure that was released with a coin in 2007 (minus exclusives) will work. Just as long as you kept the UPC from it.

As far as the stolen stickers for Doc. I've seen plenty already. Mostly on the wave 1 packs. Can't say I'm surprised since the figures aside from Hawk are kind of lousy. Hasbro is partly to blame for the method in which they sealed the packs and where they placed the sticker. Its very easy to slice the tape and remove the sticker with minimal or no visible damage.

I also blame stores for accepting returns on items that are partially opened or noticeably damaged. I've seen lots of packs with the tape just sliced open and not even an attempt to reseal.

Heh heh... Just checked my UPCs against the SW coupon. Yup, they're good. Meaning the dozen or so figures sitting at work are all good. :-)

Originally I was not happy about how easy it was to steal the stickers. However, I didn't really want to open these figures. My display preference was to leave them on the card. Since I can now open the side, take them out, and then tape it back up I am actually happy they did this. For the ones with the new comic, I just slice the bottom and pull it out.

So, it isn't all bad for everyone. I wish people didn't steal but there is scum floating in every pond.
