Well I got a Target Awe Striker over the weekend. After seeing the new Crankcase figure I knew I needed to change the head because the one it comes with looks nothing like the original. The new head is Major Barrage head with the goatee part dremeled off and repainted in Crankcases skin tone. I think this one looks much closer to the original than what the first did.

It looks good. That's good work on the goatee removal! The factory head is a Breaker head, right? Any chance of posting a comparison pick?

BTW, the color matching for the legs and the crotch doesn't look that great. Is it better in person?

He didn't change anything but the head.

As said in chat Carn that looks like a great remake of the head to look like CrankCase.

As Rougetiger said I just replaced the head because I hated the original, I didn't change anything else. Heres a pic of the orginal head it came with:

Thanks for the comparison pic. You've improved the figure. The "real" head looks crunched onto the neck, too.

As far as the crotch, I was aware that you had only done a head swap. My question was in reference to Hasbro's factory paint matching, which looks a bit off. Could just be my monitor.

Nice job, Carn - looks 1000% better.

Past Nasty - the legs are molded in that color while the crotch is painted, so digital cams or flashes do make them look like they're different shades, but in person you can't even tell the difference.

Chief has it right, I looks the same in person as it does in the pics. I need to pick up a bottle of paint at the comic shop and Ill probably paint them both to make all the parts match color wise. Also another problem that I notice with the 3 crankcases I have. All of them have a knee joint on the right knee that doesnt fit well causing all the of three figure stand at an angle as you can kind of see in the first pic. At first I thought it was just the one I used for this figure but I just got finished opening up my other 2 and they are the exact same way, so that might be something else I need to fix when I paint the legs.

Fantastic fix, bro. It does look a lot more like the original. Though I do like the 25th Crankcase head for that guy from Family Guy who always says "What? You wanna fight about it?"

I like this head waay better than the original. With all they're doing with the 25th line, they truly dropped the ball on Breaker/CC's head.

Wow I didn't realize that they added a goatee! WHO THE HECK AT HASBRO HAS THE GOATEE FETISH?! :verymad:
The paint app is definately a goatee yet the artwork shows a beard!
I don't have an extra Major Barrage. :(

Thanks for putting my color-match worries to rest, Chief.

Any plans for the original Crankcase head, Carnage?

Does anyone else keep the original heads with the figures so the figure can be made "original" again if desired?

Or am I the only one? :shifty:

Much improvement with the Barrage head. What were they thinking in adding a beard to Cranky and that stupid small moustache? Hasbro doesn't know much about facial hair stylings. :-P

I wont keep the original head for that figure because I dont plan on ever changing him back. I do have another Crankcase figure that I will keep original but I will throw him in my figure storage box so I dont have to look at his goofy head.
