Well guys, the brazilian company named "Estrela" is working in the release of the new action figures.
In the previous collection, at the time of my childhood, this company used the G I Joe toyline molds to make the Comandos em Ação series. But NOW, this stupid company (to be polite :verymad: ) is releasing the new line based on Chap Mei imported products.

Some picts are here http://picasaweb.google.com/angelotm/AB ... laComandos

I only can say that is a shame and I and other brazilian collectors where very disappointed.

Those play sets look pretty sharp.
That tower and that battle wagon are cool.

What cheeses me about Chap Mei stuff is that it's so damned hard to find. Their figs are rarely worth anything more than fodder; but some of their vehicles are outstandingly cool, and I'd murder puppies and Grandmas by the bucketload to get the Viking line.

Wait, so Estrella is doing new Comandos em Ação, their version of GI Joe, based on Chap Mei?

That almost makes it a part of the Joe line. At least in my twisted mind.

I'm sorry you guys got the short end of this stick, but it's kinda cool that at least the name is coming back.

Do they have bios and characters on the back of their cards? Or are they typical generic Chap Mei guys?

Are you interested in doing some detective work for me TARGAT? If you could find out about these guys and get me bios and better pics if possible (And maybe a few MOC samples) I'd be willing to trade you some real Joes.

Very cool stuff, not only vehicles, but also "stations"!
That black boat with some blue sure looks like the Piranha. Do you have a pic of it where it can be seen completely?

Wow, I'd love some of those vehicles. Especially this RHINO rip-off

http://picasaweb.google.com/angelotm/AB ... 0579026338

and the helicopter in this picture

http://picasaweb.google.com/angelotm/AB ... 3355099426

I don't suppose there's much chance of them showing up stateside, though.

But since they have their own packaging, what I'm really curious about is whether they put any kind of bio or filecard on the back.

It's probably just the regular cardboard Chap Mei back, but you never know.

One funny thing, I don't actually have the watch tower, but I recognize all the parts and probably could almost put one together since Chap recycled it from old sets ( :shifty: I have more than a few chap sets).

I have the Ninja version of that Helecopter, better paint job IMO (black with blue tips on the pontoons) I have it for my cobra army.

I haven't seen the Rhino rip off in person but have seen it on backs of the boxes, not sure about it unless I were to see it for certain.

And looks like the got the Piranah rip off too, nice.

I hadn't seen that van before, interesting.

I love that cheesey little raft in the puddle.

The RHINO rip off is pretty crazy looking/cool.

While I despise most of those Chap Mei things I kind of would like to see more of the Harrier.

nnnooooooo

I'm actually kind of sad about this. Seeing that name and logo used to be synonymous with a bunch of Joes I never knew as a kid. They were ones I never would have known had it not been for the internet and a few tidbits in print prior to the web. It was part of the fun of collecting as an adult.

While Chap Mei does make some cool stuff, the figures are nowhere near Joe quality. They have always been the stuff to look out for in order to find weird stuff that hasn't already been done and great for parts for customs.

But this stuff isn't G.I.Joe. And it makes it worse that it is all just repackaged old stuff. No effort.
