2008 Box Art: NOW WITH SPOILERS

Remember the Internet RAH BAT set (3 black BATs, 2 Infernos, and 1 Overkill)? I wonder how much better those sets would have done if Hasbro had ponied up for a retool of the v1 BAT head.

And I really, really hope that if they did retool the v1 BAT head, that they didn't attach some kind of crazy collar to it like they did with the Kwinn head.

I didn't get the email. Probably because they think that I'm not a member (at least according to when I logged in to their message boards). Not sure how they could email me and say that they received my paperwork weeks ago (membership and con order), but couldn't renew my account. I understand that things slip through the cracks, but this is just silly.

Does anyone have an email that I could contact the club at to correct this issue? I'm not about to spend 30 minutes digging around on their website to try and find a contact email.

Which kind of makes me mad - why should I have to do all of this grunt work to have my membership renewed.? That's the Club's job.

I can honestly say no to this one. I waited until we saw one of the troopbuilders before I orderded. This was going to determine if I got 1 or 2 sets. After seeing the Headhunter in teal with the bizarro logo on his chest, I decided that one was enough.

We know the Claw Mech will be there thanks to the Club giving us little hints this year. Whether it will be an attendee exclusive or a souvenir with box or not has yet to be determined.

The three Joe characters depicted on the box are:
Shockwave (in sweet olive drab and black, looks like v1 mold)
Long Arm (olive drab and black, maybe gold highlights, you can see his helmet and four grenades)
Low Light (olive drab and black, I have this from someone eyeballing it a while and I trust their judgment that it's the v1 mold)

Yeah, I stared at that pic last night for about an hour. The BATs are some kind of silver/grey color. Their body mold is some kind of frankenstein mixture of V1 and V2 parts. The Box depicts a flamethrower on one hand and the claw on the other. I dunno how they will pull this off. I think half the BATs may have the flamethrower on one hand and the other half will have the claw on the other. But based on the pic, the legs, waist and torso are all V2.

I agree on the Shockwave and Long Arm as the first two joes, but the bright green across the face of the third makes me think of RECOIL for some reason.

Disagree. The box art shows 1 black strap on his left leg. Low light has one on the right leg, and 2 on the left.

I think it's more likely Recoil, or perhaps Beach Head V2.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that third Joe is Sci-Fi. Would make sense if they're going against BATs. At least in my mind. If its true you heard it here first. If its not, then what the hell do I know.

Actually one day I just played around with a mold I had of the claw and made it fit with the V2 arm, its probably uber simple to do in a factory (feet hole have been resized for larger foot pegs in exisiting molds. Comic packs show us tons of examples of this).

So really I don't think its a stretch to say they just did a minor (and I mean very minor) retool here. The reverse (as I undersand it, to make the Flamethower to be compatable with the V1 thus making the Flamethrower attachment much smaller) would be much harder.
