Patrick Morey was a research and development engineer for Cobra Corp. and a single parent raising his daughter, Ellen. Cobra Corp. was willing to be flexible with scheduling in order to retain Patrick's skills. When Ellen graduated from Broca University with a degree in chemical engineering, it was Patrick who convinced her to work for the company. Not only would he be able to keep an eye on her but, she would easily climb the ranks of the ever growing corporation.

Four years passed until Patrick became the regional department head of R&D and Ellen married her long time co-worker and friend, Alexander Doggins. Within a year, the "Dogs" as they became known to family and close friends had a little baby boy who they named Alexander Junior or AJ for short.

Thirteen years passed like a blur. Patrick retired with a full pension and was looking at property in Australia. The Dogs were assigned to head a team of engineers to produce a non-lethal knock out gas to combat the protests that were increasingly becoming bloody affairs.

The Liberty terrorists, hearing of a planned gas attack, broke into the Cobra Corp. facility in an effort to destroy the chemical laboratories. While some of the employees were all too eager to surrender, the Dogs didn't. They couldn't sit idlely by while their work was destroyed by ignorant criminals.

In the ensuing confrontation, Ellen was bale to get a crowbar and started swinging freely. On one of her would be attackers her strike deflected of his shield and bounced back right at her, the claw end embedded into her forehead. In a berserker rage, Alex took out six men before he was shot and one more before he too was murdered.

After Patrick heard the Cobra Corp. security officer detail this account, he tested his patience by allowing the local authorities seek justice for AJ. When days turned into months and still no leads had gone anywhere. He went to the President of Cobra Corp. himself and proposed a division be opened to investigate and capture any known enemy of Cobra Corp. to be named after the ones he loved.

The Dog Pound has become a highly recognized bounty hunter service. Sought after by highly influential victims and feared by criminals and anyone who dared support them. With Patrick at its head and AJ as his fast learning disciple, the two alone have collected the bounties for five members of the Liberty gang including the fiend and his shield which ended the Life of Ellen Doggins.
