Cobra will
stop at nowhere in their recruitment tactics. Tapping an untold number
of resources is what CobraCorps specializes in, and when it comes to
getting new members, location does not stop them. Spreading their reach
into the “Badlands” of North America, a barren, radioactive wasteland
home to who knows what kind of people and creatures. There are mutants
abound, disfigured humans, lost to the world around them and willing
to do anything to fit into “normal” humanity. Perfect for Cobra Corps’
uses.
Void was roaming the badlands when Cobra Corps found him. Like many
other humans in the badlands, he had been born disfigured, the lingering
radiation taking it’s toll on his gene pool. With a strong, tactical
mind, but a face only a mother could love, Void felt especially misplaced,
having some great ideas, but no way to implement them. Dr. Mindbender
himself loved the way he thought and brought him into the fold as the
leader of their new group of assassins, the Badland Mercenaries.
Void welcomed the grueling surgeries and genetic manipulation necessary
to be entered into this small cadre of desperate Cobra corps assassins.
He longed for a way to use his mind and sharp wit and cobra gave him
that outlet. As leader of the Badland Mercenaries, he acts as a satellite
communications link between the other two members, Silence and Darkness,
coordinating all attacks into a single-minded, brutal focus. Once in
a while, he enters the fray, putting his twin rocket-pack, titanium
blade and hand mounted XP-95 laser into good use.
From the files of Redwolf: “I have heard that these three men all lack
senses…one sight, and one speech. But what does Void lack? Void seems
to be anywhere and everywhere all at once. He is one with the night,
and one with the shadows themselves, unless provoked. Then he is more
real than you would ever care to admit!”
